Mission

To advance student achievement by helping public school board members hone their leadership skills in governance, professional development, communications, legislative outreach, networking, and policy.

We believe education should be focused on educating students with the goal of mastery of skills such as reading, writing, math, science, and civics while understanding each students’ unique abilities and challenges.

Meet Executive Director,
Dan Snowberger

Dan has 39 years of experience in public education including that of a paraprofessional, a teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent.  He also served as a board member on a BOCES.  In the middle of his career, he worked for a private non-profit to support charter schools across the country in developing strong curricular programs in between his roles in public schools in Florida and Colorado. 

 

In addition to serving as Executive Director of CLAS, Dan currently serves as Superintendent in the Elizabeth School District.  Dan has served as Superintendent of Schools in Durango, CO, Zone Superintendent in El Paso County 49, and Assistant Superintendent in the Harrison School District.  Dan is especially proud of his efforts to refocus public education on their main mission – educating students and ensuring parents retain their rights to make important decisions for their children.
